Raphael Court, Victoria & Albert Museum
The Collection was a work commissioned by the V&A Museum and exhibited in the Raphael Court. Visitors to the gallery were invited to draw their ceramic memories on specially designed cards that were then organised for display in a number of glass vitrines that used to house the collection in the former Ceramics Galleries. In just three days over 2000 drawings were made of various ceramic objects and these formed part of a new, and ephemeral public collection. The work forged links between curatorship, collections and our understanding of what it means to own and display objects.
